The RiskNET risk assessment tool has model assessments which are pre-populated with the hazards and control measures for the assessment. The hazards can be deleted if they do not exist in the location or the activity. If the hazard does exist within the location or activity then because the control measures represent minimum or good practice standards they should not be amended.

You may do the following:

  • strike through the control measure (this is achieved by using the delete icon) – do this when there are a number of different options to achieve control e.g. to control the risks from lone working, a number of approaches could be taken – you should select the approach you will use and delete the others. Use the restore icon when the control has been implemented.
  • expand the control measure information by adding information e.g. if the control measure is PPE then add information about the type of PPE.

The risk assessment tool can be accessed from Safety Services homepage.
