CONTINUOUS ROLE DEVELOPMENT (CRD)

INTRODUCTION

The Continuous Role Development (CRD) programme is intended to provide DSOs and Deputies with the knowledge and skills to help them to influence, communicate and facilitate a positive safety culture within their department.

A CRD development programme will be tailored to an individual DSO/Deputy based on the results from their Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). Each programme will comprise 4 or 5 sessions recommended to improve the DSO/Deputies knowledge and skills. It’s anticipated that the programme can be completed over 12 months however this will be determined by individual work commitments and availability.

Once the DSO has completed the programme they will be asked to re-evaluate their SAQ and a new programme will be created based on their responses.

This process will be on-going throughout the time spent in the role.

PROGRAMME STATUS

The CRD programme is mandatory for all new DSOs and Deputies. Existing DSOs and Deputies are encouraged to complete the SAQ and participate in the CRD programme to ensure their knowledge and skills are maintained.
