Information for New Staff

Congratulations on your appointment and welcome to the team at UCL Estates!

We want to make sure you have enough information about working here and that you feel safe.

During your first days, your manager will make sure you are introduced to most of the information that you need to know. Talk to your manager in the first instance if you have any questions.

›  Training to Get You Started
During your first days here, there are a few activities you will be involved in and documents you should read as part of your induction:

As soon as you are able, you should read through the Estates Induction Pack. It is specific to UCL Estates and covers general topics such as our leadership team, IT processes, safety processes, security and staff benefits.

Your manager (or someone delegated by your manager) will ensure you are familiar with the fire safety arrangements in your work area. The UCL Fire Safety Managment Local Induction Form is used for this.

You will need to be familiar with the safety aspects of working at UCL. To help with this, you should complete the Corporate UCL Safety Induction. You might also have specific hazards associated with your role or workplace. Your manager will take you through the what you need to know about the hazards and safety measures in place for your role. The Safety Services Induction page has links to the forms used for this.

Everybody at UCL Estates needs to complete an online Asbestos Awareness e-learning. Information on this training can be found on moodle 'Asbestos' on the Asbestos Awareness Training.

Everybody at UCL Estates needs to complete an introduction to Sustainability, this course forms a mandatroy part of all new staff inductions. Introduction to Sustainability.

›  Your First Few Weeks

Once you've completed the above activities, you should have a good grounding on the basics of working at Estates and UCL in general. Other information can usually be found by searching the intranet pages. If you need any help, just ask your manager or one of your colleagues.

Within your first few weeks you should also complete the online Diversity Training
